C h e c k intake manifold elbow assembly (1) for cracks using magnetic particle

i n s p e c t i o n equipment, if available. I f magnetic particle inspection equipment

i s not available, check for cracks using magnifying glass and strong light.

C l o s e l y check for cracks around four bolt holes (2) and two threaded fittings

(3). If cracked, get a new elbow assembly (1).

C h e c k that threads in two fittings (3) have no damage. If damaged, repair

t h r e a d s in fittings with tap or by putting in threaded insert.
