NOTE
Readings must be within limits given in table 2-1. The
letter L indicates a loose fit.  If readings are not within
given limits, throw away both gears and get new ones.
Some gears on the countershaft cannot be taken off. If
these gears are damaged, throw away countershaft and
get a new one.

Measure backlash between input shaft gear (1) and countershaft drive gear (2)

Measure backlash between fifth gear (3) and countershaft fifth gear (4).
Measure backlash between third gear (5) and countershaft third gear (6).

gear (8) .
