POWER TAKEOFF-TO-HYDRAULIC HOIST PUMP PROPELLER SHAFT
REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT (TRUCK M51A2),
3/8-inch wrench
TOOLS:
Hammer
Flat end punch
None
SUPPLIES:

One
Truck parked, engine off, handbrake set.
EQUIPMENT CONDITION:
a. Removal.
1.
Using wrench, loosen setscrew (1) that holds universal joint yoke (2) to
power takeoff shaft (3).
2.
hydraulic pump (5) until it is free from power takeoff shaft (3). Lower
propeller shaft to the ground.
3.
Using hammer and punch on tapered end of woodruff key (6), take key out
of power takeoff shaft ( 3).
4.
Pull propeller shaft (4) from splined universal joint yoke (7) and take shaft
out of truck.
