Cleaning.
c.
1.
Fill engine cooling system with clean water to within two inches of overflow.
2.
Start engine. Refer to TM 9-2320-211-10.
NOTE
Put cardboard in front of radiator to raise engine tem-
perature if needed, but do not let coolant boil.
Run engine at 650 to 700 rpm until engine temperature reaches 160F to 180F.

Let it run for at least 10 minutes.
Use rubber gloves, safety goggles, and rubber apron
when working with cleaning compound. Do not spill
cleaning compound on skin, clothing or truck. Cleaning
compound contains strong acid and will cause serious
burns to personnel and damage to equipment.
NOTE
Use two bags of oxalic acid and two bottles of aluminum chloride.
4.  Slowly pour cleaning compound into radiator (1).
5.  Put on radiator filler cap (2) and press down and turn it all the way to
the right.
