3-19. REMOVAL, REPAIR, AND INSTALLATION OF HANDRAILS (STEPS)

NOTE

Handrails (steps) may be replaced at AVUM but

must be repaired at AVIM.

The platform must be lowered to perform all maintenance.

Loosen setscrews (1) and disconnect handrail and supports (2)

from rear leg (3).

Lift handrail and supports (2) away from rear legs (3).

Replace defective

d. Repair handrails and supports by welding.

hardware as required.

e. Lift handrail and supports into position and align supports

(2) with mounting points at rear legs (3).

Secure supports to rear legs by tightening setscrews (1).
