NOTE
Steps 3 through 9 will have to be done to each hinge of the upper center beam.
a.
Remove
(1)
Remove the A-Frame from the launch vehicle. See direct support maintenance procedure
6-006.
(2)
Remove the support struts (5). See unit maintenance procedure 5-027.
(3)
Remove the upper locking pin 'R' clip (6).
(4)
Remove the upper locking pin (7).
(5)
Remove the spring pin (10).
(6)
Remove the locking collar (8).
(7)
Remove the two bolts and washers (11) securing the clamp block (12).
(8)
Note the position of and remove the clamp block (12).
(9)
Remove the hinge pin (9) complete with thrust washer.
(10)
Disconnect any brackets that retain hydraulic pipes or electrical cables to the upper center
beam.
(11)
Remove the upper center beam (1) from the A-Frame.
(12)
Check all threaded components for wear and damage.
(13)
Check the bumper for wear and damage (3).
