5 - 115 CHASSIS - CAB EMERGENCY OVERRIDE SWITCH

This task covers:

INITIAL SETUP:

Tools Required

Tool Kit, General Mechanic's, Automotive (GMTK)

Materials Required

Lock washers (Qty 6)

Equipment Conditions

Vehicle switched off and battery shutoff switch in the off position

Remove

(1)

Remove the six screws (2) and lock washers (3) securing the panel (1) to the center

console in the vehicle cab.

(2)

Tilt the panel (1) forward.

(3)

Note the positions of the two electrical cables (5) on each end of the contactor (6).

(4)

Turn the cable securing screws counter-clockwise and remove the electrical cables (5).

(5)

Remove the contactor (6) from the emergency override switch (11) by pressing down on

the catch (12) on the side of the contactor (6).

(6)

Remove the locking plate (10) by turning the locking screw (9) counter-clockwise.

(7)

Remove the screws (8) and star washers (7) securing the emergency override switch (11)

and cover (4) to the panel (1).

(8)

Remove the emergency override switch (11) and cover (4) from the panel (1).

Install

(1)

Fit the emergency override switch (11) and cover (4) to the panel (4).

(2)

Fit the screws (8) and star washers (7) securing the emergency override switch (11) and

cover (4) to the panel (1).

(3)

Fit the locking plate (10) to the emergency override switch (11).

(4)

Turn the locking screw (9) clockwise and tighten.

(5)

Fit the contactor (6) to the emergency override switch (11).

(6)

Fit the cables (5) to the contactor (6) at the positions noted during removal, secure in place

with the cable securing screws.
