5 - 110 CHASSIS - CHEST PACK TOGGLE SWITCH
This task covers:
a. Remove
b. Install
INITIAL SETUP:
Tools Required
Tool Kit, General Mechanic's, Automotive (GMTK)
Heat gun
Materials Required
20mm Heat Shrink (Qty as required)
Equipment Conditions
Chest pack removed from the vehicle
a.
Remove
(1)
Remove the 14 screws and washers securing the chest pack panel (4) to the chest pack.
(2)
Locate the toggle switch (6).
(3)
Note the position of and remove the quick release plug (8) from the printed circuit board.
(4)
If required, note the positions of the two cables (7) and remove them from the switch (6) by
de-soldering the connections.
(5)
Remove the lock nut/cover (1) and washer (2).
(6)
Remove the toggle switch (6) complete with its built in seal (5).

Install
(1)
If removed earlier, place a inch length of heat shrink over the cables (7).
(2)
Solder the cables (7) to the toggle switch (6) in the positions noted during removal.
(3)
Position the heat shrink over the soldered joint. Gently apply heat to the heat shrink until it
forms a seal over the soldered joint.
(4)
Fit the toggle switch (6) with its built in seal (5) to the recess (3) in the chest pack panel (4).
The toggle switch (6) has a flat edge on one side to aid correct alignment.
(5)
Fit the washer (2) and lock nut/cover (1).
(6)
Fit the quick release plug (8) to the printed circuit board at the position noted during
removal.
(7)
Check that the chest pack body seal is clean and not damaged.
