CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Section I. GENERAL
1-1.
Scope.
This bulletin is published for use at all levels of maintenance which perform inspection, disposition, repair and
overhaul of reusable shipping and storage containers for major aircraft components. Typical components are engines,
transmissions, main rotor hubs and main rotor blades.
1-2.
Arrangement.
This bulletin consists of four chapters and five appendices. The four chapters are: Introduction, Inspection for
Classification and Disposition, Instructions for Repair and Overhaul and Instructions for Shipment and Limited Storage.
Appendix A is References, a list of regulations, specifications and standards. Appendix B is Guide to Illustrated Parts
Lists. Appendix C is Illustrated Parts Lists. Each parts list consists of a figure number and index numbers. The number to
the left of the dash (-) is the figure number. It identifies the part number(s) of the illustrated container. The numbers listed
to the right of the dash are the index numbers. They identify the container's repair parts and correspond to the numbers
on the illustration. Appendix D is Bulk Materials List. it is a list of materials used to fabricate the "Make" items which are
indicated in the Parts Lists. Appendix E is Part Number Index. It is an alpha-numeric part number to figure and index
number cross-reference. Appendix F is National Stock Number Index. It is also a cross-reference to figure and index
numbers.
